Baby-Friendly Fruity Yogurt
All you need to make this simple berry yogurt are fruit and plain yogurt! This is a simple but healthier alternative to store-bought flavored yogurt for kids because there is no added sugar and only fresh fruit.
Ingredients
The reason I love making this is that it’s a super simple way to add variety to yogurt with only 2 ingredients: fruit and yogurt! Although this specific recipe uses mixed berries, you can change it up to use different flavors instead based on what’s in season and what your baby likes.
What kind of yogurt should I use?
I recommend using plain yogurt for this recipe. For babies, use whole milk aka full-fat yogurt. I liked regular European-style or Greek yogurt for when my baby was first starting solids, but you can also experiment with different types of yogurt such as goat yogurt, sheep milk yogurt, etc. If your kid has a dairy allergy, you may also use a plant-based yogurt alternative.

Can I use a different type of fruit?
Yes! I recommend using any soft, ripe fruit that is easily mashable or easily pureed. In this recipe, I used a ripe strawberry and raspberries that were soft enough to be mashed with a fork. Other great options for fruit include:
- Mango
- Blackberries
- Apricot
- Pear
- Banana
- Applesauce
- Homemade chia jam
- etc.
