Bone Broth Pasta

Cooking pasta in bone broth rather than water adds a lot more nutritional value to your pasta or noodles, especially when catering to picky eaters.

Benefits of Bone Broth

Unlike water, bone broth is packed with nutrients like collagen, amino acids, and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. When pasta is cooked in bone broth, it absorbs these essential nutrients, fortifying the meal with added health benefits.

The versatility of bone broth-infused pasta extends beyond this simple recipe. You can use this pasta in all your other favorite pasta recipes, such as mac-and-cheese or spaghetti and meatballs.

By opting for bone broth as the cooking liquid for pasta, not only do you elevate the taste, but you also turn a simple meal into a nutritional powerhouse, making it an excellent choice for picky toddlers who might otherwise be resistant to trying new foods.

Tips for Picky Eaters

  • Play with Shapes: Use fun pasta shapes to entice toddlers. Shapes like spirals, animals, or characters can make mealtime more enjoyable.
  • Blend in Favorites: Consider blending in familiar flavors. You can add a splash of tomato sauce or mix in finely chopped chicken to make it more appealing.
  • Let Them Help: Engage toddlers in the cooking process. Allowing them to help mix ingredients or choose veggies can make them more inclined to try the final dish.

Incorporating bone broth pasta into your toddler’s diet not only ensures they receive essential nutrients but also introduces them to a flavorful and comforting meal they’ll love. Plus, its versatility allows for endless variations, catering to different tastes and preferences.

Give this wholesome recipe a try, and watch your picky eater delight in a meal that’s as nutritious as it is delicious!

Bone broth flavor

Is the flavor from the bone broth too strong? Here are some tips:

  • Try a different brand of bone broth, or make your own without added spices. Many store-bought brands of bone broth were made with spices or veggies. Although I personally love that added flavor, if you or your little one doesn’t, that’s totally fine! Look for a brand with fewer ingredients or you can make your own bone broth at home too.
  • Dilute the bone broth with water. Try 50/50 or another ratio of bone broth and water instead of making the pasta with 100% bone broth. This will also make the bone broth flavor milder in the final product.
